Geriatric Nursing (2009, May/June) reported that geriatric specialists are needed and geriatric models need to be integrated with other models in hospitals to enhance the care of elderly patients. Physicians as leaders, thus, need to analyze the effectiveness of each element of certain models, create guidelines, and hire specialists to implement the plans (Capezuti & Brush, 2009).
